Kevin is in his 4th year as a top ten Irish Setter. In 1999 he was the #1 Irish Setter and #4 Sporting dog in the country. Kevin began his specials career in 1997 being shown sparingly by breeder and owner Leslie Russell. In 1998 he was put in the capable hands of professional handler, Phil Booth, where he became the #1 Irish Setter male. In 1999, Kevin and Phil picked up where they left off in 1998 and built on that success. in the first 9 months of 1999, Kevin had won 5 all breed Best In Shows, 23 Groups Firsts, and he had defeated over 15,000 Sporting dogs.
Kevin is no stranger to the specialty ring as he has won 31 Specialty Best In Shows in his career. He also has 4 Awards Of Merit at the last 4 national specialties.
Kevin has also proven himself as a sire by producing numerous champions including the Best In Sweepstakes winner at the 1999 National Specialty.
